Found within a characterful period building, Impish has some striking historic features. The high ceilings and large sash windows let in a lovely morning light. We loved the use of colour in the home, with pastel walls and a warm deep blue in the lounge, for a cosier effect. The design of the living space has a Scandi feel, while the bedrooms feel very serene. A bonus for the home is the location – you're in a sleepy residential spot but just a short walk from the tube, which can get you into central London in ten minutes.

Owned by an Interior Designer, it is no surprise that this home is one of our favourites. Balancing high-end design and furnishings with a cosy and welcoming aesthetic, the home is great for a family who want to enjoy a characterful space. Unlike other family homes, this home has maintained its high-quality and there are very few signs of wear and tear. Instead you have thoughtful design in every corner, bedrooms bursting with character, a sociable, open-plan communal space and wide patio doors which open onto a smart and well-kept garden.

Inky Blue is an ideal find for anyone seeking out a smart and simple home in the upmarket Sloane Square area. One of London's smartest shopping streets is on your doorstep and Hyde Park is also nearby. As this is not someone's personal home, the spaces are uncluttered, but they do lack some lived-in charm. We really liked that each bedroom has its own bathroom, meaning there won't be any arguments over showers in the mornings. While there were some small signs of wear and tear in the home, overall we found it to be spotlessly clean.

If you are looking to stay in a quirky and characterful neighbourhood, with convenient access into central London, Camden is a great option, with its renowned market and great nightlife. This home would suit anyone looking for a smart, minimalist interior, in top condition, which resembles more of a hotel suite than a lived-in home. We would like to flag, however, that this home is very close to Camden Town station and a busy main road, so traffic noise and the lively street can be heard indoors.

If you're looking for a spotless space and don't mind comprising on a more personal, cosy feel, this luxurious home with hotel-style amenities is an ideal choice. We really liked the dark wood flooring which complements the opulent, jewel-coloured furnishings. The huge rainfall shower and industrial-style bathroom injects a further feeling of luxury. The location of this home is as central as it gets, right in the heart of Soho, you are in one of the liveliest areas of the city, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants –though this does mean some street noise can be heard.

Mirabeau pulls off a mean feat; it feels both sophisticated and contemporary, and simple and harmonious all at once. The bold green stripe in the open plan living area livens up what would otherwise be a traditional corniced room, and textured furniture and quirky pieces inject just the right amount of glamour. We did note that the master bedroom is relatively small compared with the living space, and if you're sleeping on the mezzanine be prepared to be woken up by morning light; the shutters don't reach the top of the window.

This home is one of eight like it in the building, so while it's stylishly decorated and fully equipped to ensure a comfortable stay, it feels more like a hotel than a lived-in home. A stylish suede sofa and striking teal wall in the living room inject a feeling of glamour, and the dark floorboards really make the sophisticated colour palette pop. Both bedrooms have an ensuite – and massive shower heads – although bedroom two's bathroom is far smaller than the other, and it's also worth noting that the second bedroom has no mirror.

We really liked this home’s quintessential English style, making it a very cosy space. While it’s not filled with many modern amenities, the home benefits from a lived-in charm, meaning you'll also find a fully-equipped kitchen and comfortable rooms conducive to relaxing. It's an old home with period character, but this does mean that some of the finishes, while being in good condition, are a little dated. Just a five-minute walk from the King's Road and minutes from the river, this is an ideal location for those wanting a tranquil and upscale neighbourhood. 

Valentine's Day

This small home, stylised in neutral tones and with a modern edge, is a great lesson in how best to do small-space living. It provides a hotel-like experience, but with the added benefit of an equipped kitchen. It’s worth noting that eating here will require a bit of effort due to the Murphy bed’s transition into a dining table – nothing you can’t handle though. While its lively location means there’s plenty going on, the apartment is conveniently facing the back of the property, overlooking beautifully landscaped communal gardens, which the guests can make the most of.

We really can’t recommend this home enough if you are a first-time visitor to London or are looking to be in an upscale, central location. This home sits on the edge of Hyde Park and is also only around a five-minute walk to the Tube. While the home may not be breaking any barriers in terms of design, it is smart, classic and comfortable. It also has the added bonus of a rooftop terrace so you can relax here after a day exploring the city.

From the outside, this red brick home is all period splendour, while inside it's as contemporary as it gets. The kitchen is very impressive, with double-height ceilings, a central island for sociable cooking and giant sliding glass doors that open up completely to incorporate the generous garden. The living room has comfy and striking Ligne Roset sofas, but there's also lots of toys in the corner (and a child's bedroom) so it's ideal for a family. We love that the adults can escape to another living area with a modern gas fireplace – perfect for enjoying cosy evenings in peace.

Cosy and colourful, we love this home's stylish yet relaxed feel. Its garden really is a standout feature, as it’s almost the same size as the home itself. Make the most of the British weather (when it’s on our side) under the pergola or relaxing on the outdoor sofa. While the kitchen is fairly small, it’s well-equipped and the open-plan space makes it a very sociable area. It’s also in a great location for easy access to the lively neighbourhoods of Hackney, Hoxton and Shoreditch.

Kiss Me Quick

With a central London location and a gorgeous Scandinavian-style feel, Miranda Storm is perfect for a getaway in beautiful Fitzrovia. You’re within walking distance to a lot of attractions – Oxford Street is a fifteen-minute walk, and there are also plenty of cosy coffee shops and boutiques in the immediate area. It’s worth noting that this home is on the top floor of a typical Georgian building (which is a fancier way of saying that there’s no lift), so be prepared for some up and down.

Miranda Storm

Heart to Heart packs a lot of living space across three levels – it even has a rooftop terrace. The layout is upside down, you enter where the bedrooms are, and then make your way up to the first floor to find the kitchen/living room. Located in Fitzrovia, it’s an incredible location, close to a lot of popular London attractions (Oxford Street is just a few steps away). We really enjoyed the lively pops of colour in the home – the picture-perfect mix of the bright orange lounge chair and blue statement wall is the ultimate eye-catcher.

Heart to Heart

Expertly combining both traditional and modern elements gives The Clapton a contemporary yet comfortable appeal. The mezzanine bedroom is bright and cosy, and attention has been given to the quality of the bedding - nice plump feather pillows and a high-quality mattress will guarantee a good night's sleep. Being on the top floor, this home is very quiet and offers charming views over the Kensington rooftops. Plus, the double-height ceiling was a welcome surprise when first stepping into this space. The Clapton is a treat through and through.

This location is a very rare find – on Portobello Road you are right amongst the bustling and eccentric market that draws in visitors daily. The home reflects its surrounding environment, with a mix of antique finds and some quirky furniture and art prints. It’s clear to see that the large terrace is also a huge bonus, offering outdoor dining and a barbeque so you can make the most out of the summer months. This is a well-loved home so the condition is not pristine, and due to the location, there will be a considerable amount of street noise heard during the day. 

Keep Calm And Carry On

Although this home has a very small footprint, it is great for a couple or business traveller who are after fresh, contemporary interiors and don’t need heaps of space. We particularly liked the sparkling clean bathroom in all marble and with low-level lighting, perfect for winding down after a long day. The bedroom is also a very good size and has particularly high-quality bedding. While this is not a central London location, you are just a short four-minute walk from the station, in a prime, residential neighbourhood.

While the location of this home is not its strong point, we really fell for its aesthetic and relaxed feel. Upon arriving, you’ll see a Victorian old button factory, but once inside, the home feels anything but archaic. In the open-plan living space there's double height ceilings and an impressive exposed beam structure. There's a lovely sense of nature in the home, with an abundance of plants. We also loved the rooftop terrace which has impressive views of the railway tracks and a lovely setting for a barbecue – you can even pick a few fresh herbs from the host's garden.

If you are looking for a minimalist home that is both stylish and spotless, we think Super Stoked is an ideal option. Embrace beautiful design, cosy beds, a roof terrace and a super fast wi-fi connection. While you are not in central London here, so it will take some travelling to reach central attractions, there is lots to be discovered in your surrounding area. Enjoy great pubs, cafes and restaurants on the weekend by wandering over to Stoke Newington or the popular and nearby neighbourhood of Dalston. 

Super Stoked

Merriment is far removed from the minimalist, Ikea-heavy flats that we so often come across, and we couldn’t be happier for it. It has a personality to it that is impossible to fake, which is a testament to the job that Jodi’s done with the place. The shabbiness and authenticity are part of the deal here, which does mean that it doesn’t feel brand new, but that’s the point. If a scuff mark on the wall is going to make you freak out, by all means go elsewhere, but that’s your loss.

This basement apartment has been thoroughly modernised and presents a contemporary look with unique finishes and details. The polished concrete floor, which extends into the garden, creates a sleek look and elevates the space. The kitchen is no different, with its bespoke cabinetry and unique contrasting black grid design. There is no formal dining table, so hosting friends and family might be difficult. Its location just off Westbourne Grove, however, has quaint cafes and restaurants, while Portobello Road is just a short ten-minute walk away.

Not Just A Pretty Face

What we really loved about this home, which is hard to find, is the views of London. Being on the the tenth floor of the building, you have impressive vistas of the city from all of the bedrooms, the living room and, of course, the balcony. While your host is new to hosting, their attention to detail is evident in the plush King sized beds with excellent quality mattresses, the high standard of cleanliness and an outstanding home manual. All of these details do make up for the slightly less attractive exterior of the home. 

Through The Lens

Although Pearlfection lacks that homely touch - we think it could do with some pictures, for example - it is a beautifully curated space and equipped with quality furniture and finishes. We love the pastel colour scheme, especially when set next to natural fibres, like the rattan chairs. Located in an upscale, residential area of Kensington, guests staying here will get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the immediate area, whilst still getting to Earl’s Court or Kensington High Street in just ten minutes. 

Pearlfection

With three bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, this home is ideal for a group or family who all love long showers in the mornings – especially when the industrial-chic bathrooms are this luxurious. We also really liked the dark wood flooring which complements the opulent, jewel-coloured furnishings. The location of this home is as central as it gets, right in the heart of Soho, you are in one of the liveliest areas of the city, surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants – though this does mean some street noise can be heard in the home at times. 

The Olive Orchard

Indigo Mood has recently undergone an immaculate refurbishment, and the result is a beautiful home that artfully blends contemporary and antique design. The art and furniture have been collected personally by the hosts, adding a depth of charm and character. As this is a garden flat, it’s a little dark in some patches, though the skylight in the living room works wonders, as does the stylish floor-to-ceiling glass windows – the outdoor patio is also a lovely sun trap. While the bedroom window looks out onto the road, it’s a quiet and residential street. 

Indigo Mood

Autograph feels both posh and unique at the same time, probably as it’s brimming with both quirky artworks and eclectic vintage furniture. Most of the pieces are made by the host herself (Nadja is an artist), so expect a highly personal atmosphere. It’s minutes away from iconic Harrods, a great location if you’re in London to shop and/or visit some of the museums – the V&A, Science Museum and Natural History Museum are ten minutes down the road.

This is the perfect home for anyone looking for a luxurious, central location with all the amenities of a hotel but less of the individual homey feel. The dark floors complement the opulent colours, patterns and textures of the furnishings, and the extravagant bathrooms - one with not one, but two shower heads - inject a further feeling of luxury. The location is as central as it gets, right in the heart of Soho, but this does mean that some street noise can be heard inside. 

The Cherry Orchard

While Stopper Knot isn’t huge, given that it’s designed for six people, it’s peaceful, and has a relative simplicity that makes it a nice place to stay. This is partly down to the location – a 70s residential development just a couple of streets from Holland Park – and also down to the sober interiors, which put more emphasis on neutral colours and natural materials than anything particularly flashy. 


Stopper Knot

Located in Leicester Square, the location of this home really could not be more central, with Covent Garden, Theatreland and The National Gallery all on your doorstep. Although we wouldn’t describe this home as luxurious, it has a quirky and playful interior that will make for a stay with a bit of a difference. While the home is small, it does manage to fit in a lounge area, mini kitchenette (that's well equipped) and a mezzanine bedroom. We also liked the addition of the small shared patio, which feels surprisingly serene given the bustling location. 

The Trunk House

Candy Dreams is a small and bright home that is functional and centrally located on a smart street near Hyde Park, within walking distance of a number of well-connected tube stops. Although this isn’t the cosiest of homes, small touches such as figurative art posters, a patterned armchair and Eames-inspired dining chairs make it memorable. The stylish pastel colour palette keeps this home from feeling clinical, and elegant cushions and lamps in the bedroom bring a hint of luxury. 

Candy Dreams

The modern design of the home is crisp, clean and inviting – we particularly liked the bathroom with its crackle effect wall, marble tiling and matte black fittings. This space doesn't have the same amount of character as a personal home, but its recent renovation means its spotless and uncluttered. While this home’s location in Pimlico might not immediately grab your attention, we think it’s a great spot from which to explore the city. You’re close to the river here, and in-between Tate Britain and Buckingham Palace.

Navy Roulette

Just a stone’s throw away from Hyde Park, this home is excellently located for exploring the best parts of the city. It’s also found in a beautiful red-brick building – ideal for an iconic London experience. The stunning architecture also continues within the home, with the super high ceilings and large windows. Lots of little details in the home were impressive, such as the atmospheric low lighting, a built-in desk area (great for remote working) and modern entertainment options. 

Anago

With hanging rattan rugs, grecian-style mirrors and high white ceilings with carved details and archways, the bedrooms in this stunning home transport you to the calming mediterranean. The living space is also equally impressive, with elegant interiors and furniture, evocative of a 1970s movie set. Just minutes away from the popular area of Sloane Square, with its glamorous shops and restaurants, it’s an excellent location to call home in the city. 

Aventurine

This home has been decorated to a very high standard and we instantly fell for the kitchen. It’s well-equipped for a keen home cook and the Scandi dining area, with two wishbone chairs, is very stylish. The space opens up to a quaint garden with a built-in gas barbeque and three lovely pear trees – you might even be able to try one of the pears if it's the right season. While the location is residential, you're also within walking distance to Shepherd's Bush and the river, making it an ideal option for a family looking for proximity to green spaces, services and attractions.

Alize

This quaint end-of-terrace three-bedroom cottage stands in an idyllic private street that could pass as a movie set. It's a quieter location but still within easy reach of Fulham Broadway and the south end of the King’s Road. The property is split across three levels with the interiors more on the traditional side, so expect to feel transported to the English countryside. The highlights, no doubt, are the neatly presented outdoor spaces: a lovely garden and a rooftop terrace with special views of Brompton Cemetery, making this a unique addition to the Guide.

This is definitely a family base, the kid's rooms come with quirky, doodle wardrobes and there's even a spacious garden for warmer days. This home is not in central London but you aren't far from Highbury & Islington a charming North London locale. 

La Mondiale

This one bedroom home is located in a stunning, private mews street in the heart of Holborn. Whilst the home's interiors are slightly lacking in character, it made it's way into our collection for it's stand-out location - close to The British Museum and Hatton Gardens - the jewellery district. The modern amenities are also a plus here, with lift access and air-conditioning, which can be hard to come by in Central London.




Pink Mews VII

The home is nestled up on the top floor making it light and airy with impressive rooftop views. Located equidistance from Shepherds Bush and Hammersmith, the location is not exactly central, but you're equipped with great transport links. Stylishly decorated, the home is cosy and colourful. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped with a country-house feel and plenty of space. If you're looking for a fuss-free and tranquil spot - this is it. 


Bluebell

Adorned with intriguing contemporary art throughout, this stylish Notting Hill home isn't afraid to be seen as a design icon. The kitchen and living area feel roomy owing to the high ceilings and large bay windows that let in an abundance of natural light. The home has an impressive list of entertainment options too. Whilst half of the home is below ground level and so won't have the same abundance of natural light that the rest of the home boasts, this stylish abode will still make a great home for a family or group of friends looking to be in a prime Notting Hill locale.
