A sweet, colourful and contemporarily decorated two bedroom home in a unique location. I was immediately struck by the sense of quiet and calm that inundates the space, barely a peep can be heard whilst staying here. Whilst the Greenwich location may not be for everyone, those who want to experience a different side of London will love the quintessentially British and picturesque street that this home sits in. The Greenwich Star is a great choice for a small family or group of friends who want to experience Greenwich and the plentiful attractions that the area offers.

Marvel at one of London’s best views and enjoy peaceful sounds of the waves from this award-winning family home on the waterfront. It was recently honoured by being listed as a house of particular architectural merit. The interiors transport you back in time with a cosy, chalet-like interior with beautiful antiques and original art. The large terraces and wide windows maximise the stunning views over the river and highlight the contrasting impressions of the city (as noted by one of our guests), which becomes a truly magical, flood-lit view by night.

This home is a tucked-away oasis of calm that has used imaginative ways of bringing light into a unique space. The Charles Loomis pendants above the dining table and Natasha Law artwork are a couple of the highlights in the open-plan living area. However, wherever you turn in this home you'll find beautiful design points. Being in Greenwich you're a little far out from Central London, but the home is well-placed, close to the underground station and there's also off-street parking for those arriving by car.

The Botanical Gallery

While this home with its stunning views could pass on its own merits, the combination of the building’s communal spaces really impressed us. There’s a gym on the thirty-fourth floor (with even more views) a resident's lounge, leafy terrace, cinema room and a communal dining space to entertain large groups. The home itself is not huge, but it benefits from having a neutral, modern interior and comfort cooling system. While the location in Canary Wharf may not be for everyone, the easy access to the City will suit business travellers.

Memoirs is ideal if you're looking for a quiet and residential stay in a super peaceful location. The spot is very convenient if you are working in nearby Canary Wharf and you can enjoy the beautiful green space of Greenwich Park nearby. It also takes less than an hour to reach more central parts of the city. We loved the living space in the home, with its charming original features, such as the vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden beams and brickwork. With a huge Smart TV, Sonos bluetooth speakers and a great home library, this will really feel like a cosy home away from home.

The home features an impressive suite of amenities, including air-conditioning, top of the range appliances and luxurious bathrooms, plus access to the building's impressive communal spaces. The furnished balcony with city views was also an added bonus. Housed in an impressive new skyscraper that forms part of the ever-expanding new buildings that are popping up in Canary Wharf, this is a home well suited for business travellers.

Within, the feel of the home is minimalistic but high end, owing to a good use of space and high-quality furnishings. The home features an impressive suite of amenities, including air-conditioning, top of the range appliances and luxurious bathrooms, plus access to the building's impressive communal spaces. The furnished balcony space with incredible views was also an added bonus.

The Silver Quay

A solo traveller or couple will be pleased to find that this home has a surprising amount of space. Both the living room and bedroom are lovely and bright and have pleasant views over the marina, while the private terrace is ideal for relaxing in the warmer months. While the finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms are a little dated, the cleaning standards more than make up for this. Thoughtful amenities include the latest Nespresso Vertuo machine with new brewing technology, a quality Marshall Bluetooth speaker and a large Smart TV.

When you realise that you don't need much to be happy, that peace and sense of community is important, that's when your attention goes to Greenwich and this familiar flat.

Conveniently located close to London City airport, this modern home will suit business travellers working in nearby Canary Wharf. We were really impressed with the condition of this home – it's brand new and spotless, thanks to your host's impeccable cleaning standards. While the footprint of the home is not large – it's a studio apartment – the bright interior with expansive views over the River Thames definitely makes up for this.

If all you’ve ever wanted was a truly unique holiday, look no further. This five-bedroom yacht is truly one-of-a-kind. Who doesn’t want to wake up to the sound of waves and direct views of London’s financial district? While the décor is certainly a little kitsch, it’s all part of the yacht experience. Moored just beside Canary Wharf, London’s financial district, there are lots of exciting things to do in the immediate area and tonnes of seafood restaurants to check out.

Located in Canary Wharf, we imagine this home will be most suitable for business travellers working nearby. While it's set up like a studio apartment, it feels like it has a decent amount of space, with a dedicated sofa and lounging area, plus a well-equipped kitchen. The amenities were also impressive, as it comes complete with your own laundry facilities and a modern bathroom with a rainfall shower.

With a funky colour palette and lots of personal touches, In Perfect Shape really is something special. It’s nestled in between modern high rises on London City Island, placing it in a unique location. The immediate area isn’t super lively, but that’s just more opportunity to spend time cuddled up on the comfy sofa. While it isn’t for people expecting to see the more traditional side of London, you’re only a short tube ride away from places like Canary Wharf and The O2 that offer a different side of London.

In Perfect Shape

Set within the brand new City Island, full of manicured squares and mostly pedestrian streets, this home feels completely contemporary. The finishes in the kitchen and bathroom in particular are high quality. While the location isn’t central, the proximity to Canary Wharf and the City would make this a good fit for business travellers. Set out over two floors, the tall windows in the home give you pleasant views of the river. As with most new builds, it's inevitably a little lacking in personality, but it makes no compromises on modern amenities. 



Fresh Blend

Your host has put a lot of love and care into renovating this home. As an architect, they saw its potential, and have completely transformed the space. It has a completely new kitchen, new bathrooms, windows and sound insulation. The newly landscaped garden is a lovely spot which includes reclaimed bricks from the original house and a vegetable patch. Inside, there's plenty of light and lots of pale wood, so there's definitely a Scandi-style to the space. The location is ideal if you are looking for a good night’s sleep, as its a residential area with a local feel.

A hidden secret within a former Pump House station just next to the River Thames and seconds away from Canada water. A perfect home for a large family that seeks a quiet and safe environment with access to free parking.

This Georgian home has many period features that will delight those after old world charm, while the interiors combine antiques with modern art and photography for a unique, eclectic style. Set over four floors, there’s lots of space for a group to spread out, and even a leafy garden. This home is definitely one for cat lovers, as there will be three living at the home during your stay. It’s not a central location here, and will be for those who are looking for a residential space away from the hustle and bustle.

Living this high up next to London’s financial district of Canary Wharf is quite impressive, ideal for anyone who is in town for business. Although the views are somewhat hindered by the motorway directly below, the home is still surprisingly quiet with the windows shut. The furnished balcony is a great touch and a welcome addition to the cosy yet fairly small home. Your host also provides an amazing array of complementary goods, such as wine, soft drinks and bottled water, which we can definitely appreciate.

With super easy access to Canary Wharf and seconds from Limehouse  marina, this brand-new two bedroom apartment is a fantastic space for those who want to combine the rawness of the East End and the modernism of Canary Wharf.

Honeycomb

The first thing you'll notice about this Docklands apartment is its decadent size – including a huge modern kitchen. The second thing you’ll notice is its arty feel, achieved by colourful patchwork rugs and a baby grand piano. The third thing you’ll notice is an extraordinary balcony, positioned right above the Thames and ideal for watching passing boats and birds, or admiring Canary Wharf. Homely and handily step-free, the flat also comes with more bathrooms than bedrooms.

While the location of this home is not its strong point, we really fell for its aesthetic and relaxed feel. Upon arriving, you’ll see a Victorian old button factory, but once inside, the home feels anything but archaic. In the open-plan living space there's double height ceilings and an impressive exposed beam structure. There's a lovely sense of nature in the home, with an abundance of plants. We also loved the rooftop terrace which has impressive views of the railway tracks and a lovely setting for a barbecue – you can even pick a few fresh herbs from the host's garden.

Crackle & Glaze

The effect of walking into this home is difficult to describe in just a few sentences. Designed and converted by Tom Dixon, this striking penthouse is found within a Grade II listed, Victorian riverside warehouse. It's the perfect balance of old and new – many original features of the building have remained, while all the amenities in the home are fully modernised (you can control everything from the air conditioning to the blinds by a central iPad). Located on the banks of the River Thames, head up to the terrace to enjoy incredible views of the city across the water.

Found within a Grade II listed, Victorian riverside warehouse, this impressive penthouse has been carefully restored and designed by Tom Dixon. It's difficult to put into words the impact this home has from as soon as you walk inside, but the twenty foot high ceilings, characterful original materials and exposed beams do all the talking. It's also worth mentioning that our photos do not currently do the views justice – located on the banks of the River Thames, you can enjoy incredible views of the city across the water. 

Livewire

With every room offering different colours and styles – from laid-back boho to bold boudoir – a magical feel pervades this cheerful townhouse. Vintage furniture items and 19th-century wooden floorboards and doors add beauty, as does a four-poster bed. There are bunk beds for kids and, outside, a wild garden – deliberately left ‘natural’ and therefore perfect for jungly games of hide-and-seek. Though fairly residential, the surrounding South London neighbourhoods of Peckham and Camberwell abound with arty, authentic galleries and shops to discover.

Eclestia

Set within an old Victorian school, this home is undeniably “old school” with its vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and climbing plants. While the other rooms aren’t quite as exciting as the living space, we are willing to look past this when considering the views of Canary Wharf. Especially at night, this is a sparkly cityscape you won’t get enough of. While the location is not your typical tourist destination and most will probably find it a little isolated, the streets have period character and the pubs are historic. 


Headmistress

The building and location are absolutely spectacular. The views over the Thames, the Shard and Tower Bridge from the double wraparound balconies are something else. The immediate area is considered Wapping and is quite residential with most building's being refurbished warehouses for lofts and flats. There's St. Katharine's Dock only a short walk away with a good selection of restaurants and shops. Lovers of quirky artwork will enjoy the plethora of pieces on show here.

Now that’s a view. Moored near Tower Bridge on the Thames’ south bank, this is the former 'HMS Harpy’. Once an Edwardian base for customs & excise officers, and landing stage for King George V, it’s now a beautifully-maintained and ultra-exotic floating home. Beside the history and vistas, you’ll find space, bright timber interiors, a good kitchen and luxury touches like that four-poster bed. The model aeroplane and mock Banksy mural add some boyish playfulness, too. Access is via a fairly steep private ramp.
