Found in the residential (but gently trendy) Queen’s Park neighbourhood, this is a home with real personality. Its host Hugh is a curator and designer, and that comes across through bright wallpapers and beautiful furniture. Curios also reflect his time spent travelling around the world. There’s a superb modern kitchen, but the stand-out feature is a large, plant-filled roof terrace with views of London’s chimneys. Use Queen’s Park’s nearby Underground station to go sightseeing, then return for celebratory sunset meals.

Home truths

This apartment requires a decent amount of climbing stairs to move freely.

At the moment the wifi in the area is not as fast as Central London.

It's a genuine home full of personality if you are looking for something a bit more blunt and safe, this is not it.

Hugh would rather not have children younger than five staying – older than that is fine though
